Halloween!

So, I just wanted to update and show the whole outfit for you all! I'm not sure if I am going to do another look this weekend, so hopefully this will suffice until next week! O:

Anyway, here is my whole "geisha" outfit that I wore at two parties this weekend.

Photobucket

As I mentioned before, i got the kimono (its technical name is furisode) on Ebay almost 2 years ago and had not had a chance to wear it until now. I also got the obi (the belt-like part) on Ebay, I had bid 99 cents on it and actually won! I didn't really have anything that matched it, but hey, you cant complain with the price. I found that the color actually went really well with the kimono and the green parts. :3

Here is what the back looks like:

And here is more detail on the obi:

And last but not least, the makeup close up : D Someone mentioned to me that my makeup was very close to one of Michelle Phan's. I had just heard of her a little before the last post but had not looked at any of her stuff yet. I looked at it and it was similar. I liked how she did the orchids, so I ended up using that bit of her tutorial by adding a flower to my hair :3

Some of the pics I took after the party, so the makeup might look a little smudged D:

Halloween Makeup 2: Geisha Doll

Hello again! Time for the second round of Halloween make-up! : D Sorry, for it being a tad late, I was waiting for some new makeup to arrive and it finally did today!

Anyway, this is the makeup I will actually be wearing myself this year! I have 3 kimonos in my possession and I practice Kitsuke (the art of wearing kimono), but alas, it has been awhile. D: So, I wanted to find an excuse to wear them again and what better excuse than Halloween! : D

This is the lovely I will be wearing, it is the first time I will be wearing it! O: It's a Furisode which is the most expensive type of kimono because they are often the most intricate , but I got it for a bargain some time ago.

Photobucket

And here is the look! Again, all of this was done with like 99% Sugarpill. I totally seem like a stalker by now XD

Photobucket

So, let's get started!

Face Prep:
For this one, you really need your face to be as pale as possible. I did not want to cake my face with white halloween make-up, so I opted to try something different. First of all, I do not really wear foundation. I have relatively clear skin and I am pretty pale, so I really don't need much to cover up. So, for me, I just applied my normal face powder first as a base. Then I took Tako and used my large brush to apply it to my face. Then I took my NYX eyeshadow base and applied it to my eyes and lips. We want a full white face here peeps! O:

Here is my uggs self (without makeup) before and after all white application. I swear, no matter how much it looks it, this is not a mugshot! lol:

MOVING ON

Eye Makeup:
The first I do is take Dollipop and apply it to the whole outer portion of the eye, both on top of the eye and underneath it. There isn't any real logic to this, I'm just mostly doing what I feel looks good and dramatic:

Photobucket

Here's both eyes:
Photobucket

Then I take Love+ and feather is out from the corner of my eye and somewhat underneath the eye as well, like so:

Photobucket
Photobucket

Then I take a small amount of Buttercupcake and apply it near the tear duct on the upper and lower lid:

Photobucket

Next, I apply my liquid eyeliner in a feathered/cats eye shape. I also take Bulletproof and accentuate that feather:

Liner:

And shadow:

Lastly, I add my falsies and the eyes are done! :D

Photobucket

Also, since I will be wearing a black wig (which is not in my possession yet) and I have naturally blonde hair, I need to have my eyebrows match. So, I take a eyebrow pencil and fill in my brows. Next, I take Bulletproof again and ever so lightly apply the black shadow on top. This is what it looks like before and after:

Photobucket

Lips:
Typically, the Japanese view very small lips as sexy. Therefore, the Geisha typically only fill in a portion of their lips when they apply their makeup. I want to do the same here. You can fill in as little or as much as you like, this was just my personal preference. I take my lipstick brush and I apply OCC's Demure to all of my bottom lip but only a portion of my top lip. Think of doll lips and how they often look the same way.

I picked Demure because it picks up on the pink in my eyes. But, I also add NSFW on top in the inner portion to give it a little depth. The end result looks like this:

Photobucket

Retouch areas that might of been smudged or need more definition and you are all done! Here are some more pics of the final result:

I will be sure to add pics of the whole look when I do it for real this weekend! : D

Halloween Makeup 1: Elvira

Hey all! I wanted to do something fun and since it's close to Halloween, I decided to do some crazy makeup. I thought about it and decided that I wanted to do Elvira : D Also, I am dressing up in my kimono for Halloween, so next week I will have a Geisha-ish makeup to show, so look out for that!

Anyway, here is the look!
Photobucket
Photobucket

And of course, this is mostly done with Sugarpill! :D With some Rimmel and OCC thrown in. I would say it takes about 30 mins, so be prepared to work on this one! It also took a few tries to get it right for me. So, it might be good to practice!

So, to start, we are going to use an eyeshadow base. As I've mentioned before, my preferred one is NYX. Then, I took Afterparty and made a line down my eyelid, about 2/3rd of the way down. Elvira's actual makeup goes up past her brow and onto her forehead, BUT I toned it down a tad and just had it go to the brow line.

Photobucket

Then I took Dollipop and covered the rest of the area, extending it a bit into the tear duct.

Photobucket

Then I took Bulletproof and applied it along the last line and feathered it past the lash line. I also took it and applied it into the crease.

Photobucket

Next, I took a white eyeliner pencil and applied it into the lower eyelid, and extended it into the tear duct and ended it at a point.

Photobucket

I took my liquid liner and applied it in a cats eye on the upper lash line and extended it from the very corner of the tear duct outward to wear the nose just starts to protrude. Then I made a line directly under the bottom lash line as well and connected the two lines. My liquid liner is brown, so it is not really best suited for this, so I would suggest a black liner instead.

Photobucket

Lastly, I took Love+ and Dollipop and blended it on the lower lid, all along the bottom liner line.

Photobucket

Then, add mascara and some false lashes and you are done with the eyes!

Photobucket

For the blush, I took my normal blush and a little Love+ and applied it along the cheek bones. you need to apply it in a broad line. I find it's easier to apply if you hold your brush like so:

Photobucket

The result looks like this:

Photobucket

For the lips, I used two products: NSFW by OCC and Eternal Kiss by Rimmel London. It's hard to tell in the image, BUT I took Eternal kiss (which is a purple/red and much darker than NSFW) and applied it on the inside of the lips, then applied NSFW on the remainder of the lip. I added a clear gloss and voila! You have a nice glossy red lip.

Photobucket

That's it! Here is another view of the finished product. HAVE FUN!

Apple Blossom

So, as I promised! I wanted to show how I do some looks that I wear. Honestly, every day I am trying different color combos so I will post the ones I find more successful and fun here. I love this color combo and its really wearable in my opinion and really pretty. It reminds me of an apple blossom, thus why I call it that. *wink wink* All of this was done with Sugarpill cosmetics, as it's the only eyeshadow I own right now! lol

Here it is:

Photobucket

So, I took pics along the way to show the process. There is really nothing to it and can be done in like 5-10 mins.
First, I start with my bare eye (I'm just showing this just so you can see the difference when i put eyeshadow base on):

Photobucket

Then, I add my white NYX eyeshadow base:

Photobucket

I guess there isn't THAT much of a stark difference as my skin is already incredibly white! BUT, it does make a difference in the color of the eyeshadow! The colors will be much more vibrant if you put the white base on underneath it. I got this base at my local ULTA. I think it was a tad pricey but I have been using it for a month now and have barely used any of it, so it lasts quite a while, I'm sure!

Next, I add the yellow (Buttercupcake) to half of my lid all the way to outer edge. In retrospect, it's probably best to leave the edge of the lid bare for the pink, but the colors are bright enough that they do alright regardless.

Photobucket

Then, I add blue (Afterparty) on top of the yellow to start making my green. The only reason i do not use Midori (which is their pressed green) is that it has more of a blue tone instead of a yellow toned green which looks better in my opinion. (PS. It is my hope of hopes that they make a pressed apple/lime green soon, like their loose shadow Absinthe )

Photobucket

Since the blue on top looks REALLY blue-green, I add another layer of yellow to make it the yummy apple green I want.

Photobucket

Then I take the pink (Dollipop) and I fill the outer corner of the eyelid. I make it extend pass the lid a bit with a rounded feather.

Photobucket

And, that is all that is really needed! Before I add the eyeliner and mascara, I take a clean brush and blend the outer rim of the pink and where the pink and green meet. I also take a little more yellow and place a bit above the crease and a bit on the very outer corner of my under-eye. I also wanted a little shine so I added a sheer-white glittery shadow on top. You can do this with Sugarpill's Lumi as well.

To finish this took, I take my eyeliner (for me, I prefer a brown, liquid liner. I think it's Maybelline's Ultra Liner. No real reason i pick this one. It's just cheap and it gets the job done!) and only put liner on the top lid in a cats eye style. This is just my preferred method as well. I find that dark liner only on the top lid looks great for me. I do not go completely naked on the bottom lid though, I do add white eyeliner into the inner portion of my bottom lid.

Lastly, I add black mascara on both my top and bottom lashes. And Voila! You are finished : D

Girly Things!

I have finally decided how I want to use this blog! lol. In the last year, I have been really interested in make-up and have been trying out and purchasing a wide array of products. Most notably Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics' Lip Tar and Sugarpill Addicted to Pretty pressed eyeshadows which i have been purchasing like a madwoman!

Since purchasing these products, I spend a lot of my time experimenting and having fun with make-up. I would like to share those endeavors with you all! : D

I have started taking pictures of my experiments and I will share some with you now and continue with posting others. I have also done a few reviews and would like to post a few more.

First off, here is my You Tube page which has the said reviews on it.

Second, On to photos! YEAH

Photobucket

This was one of the first things I made with Sugarpill using their Burning Hearts palette

Photobucket

This was one of the looks I did when I was in Vegas. : D The shadows used are Poison Plum and Dollipop from Sugarpill and Luster from OCC (which apparently they don't sell anymore. It was just a sheer white, glittery powder; much like Lumi from Sugarpill)

Photobucket
This is more something that I have been doing on a day to day basis, going from a green to purple. Used Midori and Poison Plum from Sugarpill and Luster on top again.

Photobucket
And this is something I did the other night for a Rehearsal Dinner earlier this weekend. I used a white eyeshadow base from NYX, then Dollipop, Poison Plum and Afterparty from Sugarpill. AND the lips is Melange from OCC

Anyway, what I plan to do with this blog is show the looks I make and show how I made them. So, stay tuned and I will have one for you later this week! <3
